EXITEX NEXT GENERATION

YOUNG ARTIST MENTORING PROGRAME

Exitex_Next_Generation_Master.jpg

The Next Generation Mentoring Programme runs alongside our concert season, and offers an immersive educational experience to young performers from Ireland and Northern Ireland with an interest in early music. Each year, we select up to 20 young singers at various stages of their training to join us for an intensive mentoring weekend, held in August. Singers who are assessed as showing potential at this weekend will be invited to join our main mentoring course, held over the Easter holidays, where they rehearse alongside professional singers and musicians for a major project and concert tour. Our focus is on developing versatile musicians, giving singers the chance to perform in ensembles of different sizes and as solo singers, and giving them valuable training in opera and stagecraft. In addition to the mentoring courses, we run a number of supporting events and workshops throughout the year, focusing on general topics such as repertoire and audition technique,as well as topics specific to early music such as ornamentation.

To request an audition for our 2021/22 mentoring programme, please email your CV to info@sestinamusic.com.

We are grateful to our sponsors Exitex Ltd., the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Foyle Foundation for supporting this programme.
